How to view two word documents side by side

Spending time comparing two documents can sometimes feel like an impossible task. With Microsoft Word’s ‘side by side’ view, you can save your neck muscles, and feel more productive.

How to view both documents

  • First, find and open both Microsoft Word documents.
  • Next in one of your documents find the view tab in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
  • Find ‘Side by Side’, click and Word will open both documents on the screen.

This function allows you to scroll and zoom in both documents at the same time; perfect for spotting differences, as well as making changes to each one where needed.

There you have it, three easy steps to view two Word documents at once.
