Sometimes, you just want to get your head down and write, with minimal distractions. Although Microsoft Word is packed with features, at that moment when you want to concentrate solely on getting a good lot of words on the page, you don’t need to use them, and that’s where Focus Mode comes in.
What is Focus Mode?
At the click of a button, Focus Mode allows you to turn off all of the clutter on your screen, reducing distractions and making concentrating on your writing project much easier. It removes all of the unnecessary noise, leaving just you and the words – perfect!
How to turn on Focus Mode
Simply go to the bottom right of your screen next to Display Settings, and you will see the Focus button. Click on it once, and voila! Now you can get your words typed out with no distractions.
How to turn off Focus Mode
When you’re finished, simply hit the escape key (Esc) on your keyboard to return to normal. Easy peasy!
I can’t find Focus Mode in Microsoft Word
Focus Mode is a Microsoft 365 feature, so if you are unable to find it then you are likely not using Word with a Microsoft 365 subscription. If you’d like to learn more about MS365 so that you’re always using the most up-to-date version of Microsoft apps, get in touch – we’re happy to chat about what that means.
